Yahrzeits, on the right calendar
Members register the Hebrew date of a loved one’s passing once. Yahrzeit handles the annual recurrence on the Hebrew calendar so the date lands correctly year after year, regardless of how it shifts in the Gregorian calendar.
Reminders in time to observe the day
Each member gets personal notifications ahead of every yahrzeit they have entered — a few days out and the morning of — through Kikaron’s regular notification stream. Time to attend a minyan, light a candle, and prepare.
A community board of upcoming observances
A shared board lists yahrzeits coming up across the community in the next weeks, with the name of the deceased and the relation to the member observing. Members can know whose loved ones are being remembered and join in saying kaddish or simply offering a kind word.
Yom Kippur and the Yizkor service
On Yom Kippur — and at the other moments in the year when Yizkor is recited — Yahrzeit pulls together every name being remembered across the community on that day, ready to be read aloud during the service.
Available with the Jewish package
Yahrzeit is part of Kikaron’s Jewish-organisation package, bundled together with Chokhmah, Jewish-holiday-aware calendars, and every standard Kikaron app.
